We recently had a customer in the Buffalo region who was very confused over the phone. Back in January, Tom Wolff (owner) and Jen Hugill (regional project manager) had sat down with Jack before he left for his winter home in Florida. At the time, Buffalo Bath Pros was in the running to remodel his tub/shower. Jack was upfront—he wasn’t ready to make a decision until he returned in the spring, and he understood prices might change by then.
In early May, Jack reached back out, but he accidentally called Tom’s personal cell. It took a few days to return his message, and by then, things had gotten a little strange.
Jack was convinced that Rome Bath Remodeling had bought out the Bath Pros brand. He had even stopped into their showroom and was told—by both the manager, Joe, and another salesperson—that Buffalo Bath Pros and Rome Bath Remodeling were the same business. Not just similar—identical.
Understandably, Jack was a bit disturbed on the phone. Let’s set the record straight.
Bath Pros, LLC is an independent, family-owned and operated company—not a franchise, not a licensee, and certainly not affiliated with Rome Bath Remodeling. We’re comprised of three regional branches: Syracuse Bath Pros, Buffalo Bath Pros, and Albany Bath Pros, all working under one roof with shared ownership, staff, and core values. We did try expanding to Pittsburgh briefly with the help of trusted family and friends, but that experiment didn’t pan out. Today, Bath Pros proudly serves only Upstate New York. Our focus is—and always has been—bathroom remodeling: full bath remodels, tub-to-shower conversions, walk-in showers, and everything in between.
Now, as far as product overlap goes: yes, Rome Bath Remodeling does use the same Onyx Collection shower pan we install. If you’ve read any of our previous articles, you know we’re huge believers in Onyx—it’s heavy, durable, and made right in Kansas. But that’s where the similarities end.
Rome Bath Remodeling currently installs acrylic wall surrounds from BCI, the largest independent acrylic bath product manufacturer in the U.S. While acrylic isn’t a bad material, it’s not what we specialize in—and we don’t believe it holds up as well over time.
Bath Pros specializes almost exclusively in cultured stone wall surrounds. We install solid-slab stone from the Onyx Collection and Samuel Mueller—two of the most durable and visually appealing manufacturers in the market. Recently, Onyx has become our go-to, thanks to its consistency, availability, and U.S.-based production.
We’re more than a little disappointed that salespeople at Rome Bath Remodeling are telling homeowners we’re the same company. That simply isn’t true. And frankly, as a small, truly family-owned business, that kind of misinformation stings. We work hard to build our reputation. Our name carries real weight with local customers, and we’re proud of that. When larger competitors misrepresent who we are, it doesn’t just confuse homeowners—it actively hurts the small business we’ve spent years building.
Sure, imitation is a form of flattery. But when that imitation comes with misleading statements that conflate two entirely separate companies, it crosses a line.
So if you’ve been told by a Rome Bath Remodeling rep that we’re the same company—or if you’re Googling “Is Rome Bath Remodeling the same as Bath Pros?”—now you have the answer: we are not affiliated in any way.
When you call Bath Pros, you’re working directly with a close-knit team based in Buffalo, Syracuse, and Albany, not a sales team or national call center. We show real photos of our real work, we never outsource installations, and we stand behind every project with pride.
If you’re a homeowner in Upstate NY and want a straight answer from a company that actually does the work, give Bath Pros a call at (315) 217-1151.
We’re not the biggest. We’re not national. But we’re real. And we’ll treat you—and your home—with the honesty and respect you deserve.
