Barbara had just about given up. After meeting with several bathroom remodeling companies, she was frustrated and exhausted. She knew exactly what she wanted—a high-quality shower, possibly cultured marble, from a reputable company—but every salesperson she met tried to sell her overpriced plastic or generic “Corian-like” materials. Nothing felt right.
Then she found us.

When Barbara reached out, we took the time to truly listen. Tom Wolff came out to walk her through our product, the Onyx Collection, and explained who we are: a local, family-owned company that prioritizes quality without the inflated price tag. She was impressed, and we scheduled an in-home consultation that very same day.
At the time, we were booked about 10 weeks out, but Barbara understood that sometimes good things are worth the wait. What none of us could predict, however, was the brutal winter storm that would hit Central New York in early January.

A Song of Ice … and more ice.
The first week of the new year brought white-out conditions across the region, making travel nearly impossible. But our install technician, Vincent Aponte, and his helper, John, were determined to get the job done. They braved the icy roads and made it to Barbara’s home, only to face a new set of challenges—freezing temperatures that made cutting stone a nightmare and relentless winds that kept knocking over his work tent.
“Papi, this is not fun” — if you are a previous customer and have ever met Vinny, this should sound familiar.
Typically, a cultured stone Onyx Collection installation takes three to five days, but given the conditions, we knew this one would take every bit of five. The job itself was straightforward, but for those unfamiliar with stone shower installations, moving a 96”x60” slab of engineered stone through a home is no small feat. Sometimes, it’s impossible without cutting the panel down. In cases like this, we install a pencil trim seam for a flawless finish—exactly what we did for Barbara’s shower in Liverpool.

The Final Result: Luxury and Functionality
After a grueling week battling the elements, Vincent wrapped up the installation late Friday evening. On Saturday morning, Barbara stepped into her brand-new shower for the first time, thrilled that her vision had finally come to life.
The finished shower was worth the wait. Barbara’s design featured Onyx Collection’s “Glacier” color with an imitation stone tile pattern (11.25” x 11.25”), beautifully accented by “Liberty” series cultured stone crown molding. For accessibility and convenience, we installed a 400lb-capacity flip-up seat in white, a Liberty Tall corner caddy, and a double sliding bypass door with 22” towel bars on both sides.
